Skills

Rion's offensive PPECs — Nalcon, Red, D-Felon, and Short — and what to charge each one for.

Rion doesn't carry guns or blades — he attacks with PPECs (Psychic Power Enhancing Chemicals), injected with the Beeject and charged up before release. Every one of them drains his AP gauge as he uses it, and managing that gauge — not ammo — is the entire combat system. See Items for the support drugs that keep the gauge in check between fights.

Nalcon

Rion's baseline attack and the only PPEC nothing in the game resists. Charge it almost to full and tap the button repeatedly to spam short bursts — the go-to tactic against Arabesque and Robots. A fully charged Level 1 blast is strong enough to knock most enemies to the floor.

Location
Medical Supply Closet, Michaelangelo Memorial Hospital
Features
  • Basic charge — usable at any charge level
  • No enemy is immune to it
  • Rapid taps release multiple small bursts for crowd control
  • Weakest damage per shot
  • Won't stagger tougher enemies without a near-full charge

Red

Best saved for single tough opponents. Rabbits and Riflemen take the most damage from it, and it leaves them staggered and burning long enough to land a follow-up Nalcon blast. Never use it on Rainheart.

Location
G Project Briefing room, Michaelangelo Memorial Hospital
Features
  • Needs at least a 3/4 charge to be worth using
  • Roughly double Nalcon's damage
  • Sets enemies ablaze, buying time to recharge and follow up
  • Robots and Rainheart are completely immune
  • Wasted if released under 3/4 charge

D-Felon

Charging D-Felon makes every nearby enemy writhe in pain without dealing damage — use that window to herd a group together before releasing. It shines against rooms with three or more enemies, which is rare, but invaluable when it happens.

Location
Room 204, Babylon Hotel (given to Rion by Appolinar's owner)
Features
  • Must be fully charged to release; drains while charging
  • Hits every enemy in the room at once
  • Very effective on ranged attackers like Robots
  • Extremely limited supply
  • Only Dorothy is truly immune, but weak against most other bosses until Level 3

Short

AP Overload

Not something you inject — Shorting happens automatically once AP maxes out, unleashing a devastating psychic burst. Keep Delmeter stocked before you let it happen, or Rion will be stunned and vulnerable immediately after.

Location
Automatic — triggers when Rion's AP gauge fills completely
Features
  • Instantly clears every enemy in the room
  • No charge time or drug required
  • Requires Delmeter on hand or Rion collapses afterward
  • Several enemies — Birdman, Rainheart, Rita, Cain, Dorothy — are immune
