Items

Recovery items for Fiona and Hewie, and the harmful ones worth keeping far away from both of them.

Recovery Items — Fiona

Quies

A quick pick-me-up when you don't have time to fully rest.

Location
Alchemical
Effects
  • Restores a small amount of stamina

Recreatio

The complete version of Quies — brew it when you can afford the ingredients and want a total reset before a chase or a boss fight.

Location
Alchemical
Effects
  • Fully restores stamina

Camomile

A found equivalent to Recreatio. Hard Mode removes it from the world entirely, so budget your alchemical stamina items more carefully on that difficulty.

Location
Found in varying locations (not available on Hard Mode)
Effects
  • Fully restores stamina

Lavender

A gentler, gradual calming item rather than an instant fix. Also cut from Hard Mode.

Location
Found in varying locations (not available on Hard Mode)
Effects
  • Slowly reduces panic over time

Mundus

A light dose of calm — enough to pull Fiona back from the edge of a panic spike without fully resetting it.

Location
Alchemical
Effects
  • Reduces panic by a small amount

Sedatio

The strongest panic-relief item in the game. Worth keeping in reserve for right before a boss encounter, when a panic-driven mistake is most costly.

Location
Alchemical
Effects
  • Fully reduces panic

Recovery Items — Hewie

Chicken Jerky

A small snack to keep Hewie moving during a long stretch without a safe room.

Location
Found in varying locations
Effects
  • Slightly restores Hewie's stamina

Esca

The alchemical equivalent of Chicken Jerky, for when you're out of found scraps.

Location
Alchemical
Effects
  • Slightly restores Hewie's stamina

Beef Jerky

The best found food you can give Hewie — it doubles as a small boost to how he feels about Fiona, which matters for the ending you get.

Location
Found in varying locations
Effects
  • Fully restores Hewie's stamina
  • Also improves his mood

Magna Esca

The brewed version of Beef Jerky, with the same stamina and mood benefits.

Location
Alchemical
Effects
  • Fully restores Hewie's stamina
  • Also improves his mood

Bad-Effect Items

Weltigo

Never carry this by mistake — it strips Fiona's ability to hear approaching pursuers, which is often the only warning you get.

Location
Alchemical
Effects
  • Temporarily deafens Fiona

Torva

Actively harmful to consume — exists in the game as a brewing byproduct or trap item, not something you'd use on purpose.

Location
Alchemical
Effects
  • Increases panic

Carbo

A stamina drain — keep it separate from Fiona's actual recovery items in your inventory.

Location
Alchemical
Effects
  • Reduces stamina

Nigred

Functionally identical to Carbo — another item you don't want to accidentally consume mid-chase.

Location
Alchemical
Effects
  • Reduces stamina

Remedium

A third stamina-draining item with the same effect as Carbo and Nigred.

Location
Alchemical
Effects
  • Reduces stamina

Onion

Do not feed this to Hewie — despite sitting in a jar that looks like every other item pickup, it actively hurts him.

Location
In a red jar just outside Debilitas' Shack
Effects
  • Reduces Hewie's stamina if fed to him

Bennenam Esca

The alchemical version of the same trap — same rule applies, keep it away from Hewie's bowl.

Location
Alchemical
Effects
  • Reduces Hewie's stamina if fed to him

Sylvesta Esca

A dangerous one to feed by accident — an enraged Hewie doesn't reliably tell friend from foe.

Location
Alchemical
Effects
  • Makes Hewie angry and aggressive
  • He may attack Fiona, and sometimes nearby enemies too
