Secrets
The button codes for X's Ultimate Armor and Zero's Black Armor.
Ultimate Armor
Cheat CodeHighlight X on the character select screen and enter the code for your platform:
PlayStation
Highlight X, then press the X button (Circle) twice. Press Left on the D-pad 6 times. Hold L1 and R2, then press Start (keep holding L1 and R2 until the game begins).
Sega Saturn
Highlight X, then press the B button twice. Press Left on the D-pad 6 times. Hold L and R, then press Start.
PC
Highlight X, then hold Down while pressing Enter.
Done correctly, X's normally light-blue armor joints turn purple. Step into any of Dr. Light's hidden Armor Capsules and you'll receive the complete Ultimate Armor instead of just that capsule's upgrade — every body part at once, plus an unlimited Nova Strike that costs no energy to use.
- Full Ultimate Armor — all four body upgrades at once, no need to find the capsules
- Unlimited Nova Strike Giga Attack with no energy cost
Zero's Black Armor
Cheat CodeActivates the same way as X's Ultimate Armor — highlight Zero on the character select screen and enter the code for your platform:
PlayStation
Highlight Zero, hold R1 and press Right on the D-pad 6 times. Release R1, hold the X button (Circle), then press Start.
Sega Saturn
Highlight Zero, hold R and press Right on the D-pad 6 times. Release R, hold the B button, then press Start.
PC
Highlight Zero, then hold Up while pressing Enter.
Purely cosmetic — Zero's armor turns black and that's the entire effect. It doesn't make the game easier or grant Zero any new abilities.
- Recolors Zero's armor black
