Weapons
Every gun and explosive Jack can carry.
Roughly the order you'll pick these up in: Handgun → Dual Handguns → Machine Gun → SP550 Assault Rifle → Grenade Launcher → Explosives, with the Crossbow arriving separately as puzzle equipment right after the first boss.
Handgun
Jack's starting sidearm, holding 15 rounds and firing on a deliberately slow cycle to help conserve ammo. Common drops from terrorists keep it topped up all game, and it's arguably the most reliable gun in the game for exactly that reason. A second handgun found later can be combined with it for dual-wielding, but a single gun is the better pick — dual-wielding burns through ammo fast for little extra payoff.
- 15-round magazines, plentiful all game
- Ammo is very easy to keep topped up thanks to terrorist drops
- Slow fire rate helps avoid wasting bullets
- Weak against tougher enemies
Machine Gun
The weakest weapon in the game. Its fire rate is much higher than the handgun's, but ammo is so scarce it rarely pays off over the handgun or assault rifle.
- Scarce all game
- Ammo is hard to find
- Easy to waste shots
- PipeA locker in Car 6
Doubles the weapon's ammo capacity
SP550 Assault Rifle
The best weapon in the game, though you get your hands on it fairly late. It accepts a scope for longer-range shots and, near the end, a grenade launcher that becomes the only way to hurt the final boss.
- A large stockpile comes with the rifle itself
- The best weapon in the game, with much more power and range
- ScopeCar 3
Extends the rifle's range
- Grenade LauncherNear the endgame
The only weapon that can hurt the final boss
Plastic Explosives
Only two plastic explosives turn up in the whole game. Place one on the floor and detonate it remotely with the action button — excellent burst damage against bosses, but stay well clear of the blast radius yourself.
- Very scarce
- Can kill you too if you stay inside the blast radius
Crossbow
Puzzle ItemNot a real combat weapon: dropped by the first boss and used purely to solve a puzzle, combined with the Grappling Hook to fire a line across to the platform holding the IC Chip in Car 5.
