Enemies

The Ecliptic Express's zombies, Umbrella's training-facility experiments, and the bosses standing between Rebecca and Billy and the surface.

Zombies

Encounter

The reanimated train crew, Umbrella trainees, and lab staff. Individually slow, but the game loves to pack them into narrow train cabins and hallways where a couple of shots to drop them and a sprint past is more efficient than a fight to the death.

Location
Ecliptic Express, Training Facility, Basement, Underground Laboratory
Recommendations
  • Handgun to the head, or knock down and run past to save ammo

Cerberus

Encounter

Infected attack dogs that ambush in pairs. Shooting them mid-leap sends them flying backward and keeps you out of biting range — waiting for the jump instead of firing on sight saves ammo.

Location
Ecliptic Express (western cabin)
Recommendations
  • Handgun, timed for when they leap

Giant Spiders

Encounter

Venom-spitting spiders that line the halls leading into the Basement. They're not worth the ammo or the risk of poison; the fastest and safest option is always to bolt past them.

Location
Basement access hallway, Control Room access hallway
Recommendations
  • Don't engage — split the team and run through one at a time

Plague Crawlers

Encounter

Small mutated creatures that drop from ceilings or lunge from cover. A single close-range shotgun hit usually finishes them; a Handgun follow-up cleans up stragglers.

Location
Training Facility Clock Room, Basement Control Room area
Recommendations
  • Shotgun blast to the head at close range

Crows

Encounter

Scavenger birds that smash through windows or dive-bomb outdoor walkways. Rarely a real threat; just keep moving toward the exit.

Location
Training Facility Meeting Room, Training Facility Clock Room exterior
Recommendations
  • Ignore and run — not worth the ammo

Eliminator Apes

Encounter

Aggressive mutated apes that hit hard and often show up in packs of three. Fighting them in the open invites being surrounded — fall back to a narrow hallway and let the corridor limit them to one attacker at a time.

Location
Basement (Boiler Room stairwell), Basement Testing Chamber area
Recommendations
  • Shotgun in a narrow corridor
  • Molotov Cocktails against groups

Hunters

Elite

Reptilian B.O.W.s that leap and slash for heavy damage. They usually show up in pairs — Acid Rounds from the Grenade Launcher or a patient Shotgun trade keeps the fight manageable.

Location
Basement Testing Chamber, Underground Laboratory service passages
Recommendations
  • Grenade Launcher (Acid Rounds)
  • Shotgun at close range

Humanoid Leeches

Elite

Leech swarms wearing a rough human shape, encountered throughout James Marcus's old laboratory. Fire is their real weakness — a Molotov Cocktail or two dissolves them, but outrunning them while they're still untransformed is usually the faster option.

Location
Underground Laboratory (Water Motif hall, Bust of Marcus rooms)
Recommendations
  • Molotov Cocktails
  • Run past while untransformed rather than fight

Lurker Frog

Encounter

An oversized amphibian that occasionally surfaces near the dam. It's more of a jump scare than a real fight; a couple of shots is enough to send it scurrying away.

Location
Treatment Plant dam
Recommendations
  • One or two shots and it retreats — not worth chasing

Bosses

Giant Scorpion

Boss · Easy

A giant scorpion that crashes through the roof of the bar car. Despite its size it's one of the gentlest boss fights in the game — back into a corner, wait for the telegraphed claw-raise before each attack, and put a bullet in its head each time.

Location
Ecliptic Express Bar Car
Recommendations
  • Handgun
  • Corner yourself against a wall and fire only when it raises its claws

Centurion (Giant Centipede)

Boss · Medium

A T-Virus-infected centipede that emerges when Rebecca goes after the Fire Key. It patrols between two fixed points around the room's pillars — position yourself at one, unload the Grenade Launcher when it arrives, then reposition for the second.

Location
Training Facility Wet Room pool
Recommendations
  • Grenade Launcher
  • Learn its two stopping points and meet it there

Giant Bat

Boss · Medium

A massive bat that swoops down for hit-and-run attacks while a swarm of smaller bats fills the air around it. Focus only on the giant bat and time Napalm Rounds for its swoop — around six solid hits brings it down.

Location
Church, Laboratory area
Recommendations
  • Grenade Launcher with Napalm Rounds
  • Ignore the smaller bats entirely

Prototype Tyrant

Boss · Hard

Umbrella's early, unfinished Tyrant prototype, carrying James Marcus's own genetic material. It's vulnerable while recoiling from a hit, so keep moving to stay behind it and land Magnum rounds whenever it whiffs an attack. Fought twice — once alone, once with both Rebecca and Billy managing their positioning together.

Location
Underground Laboratory Turntable Shaft (first encounter), Treatment Plant lift room (rematch)
Recommendations
  • Magnum
  • Circle behind it and fire only while it recovers from a miss

Queen Leech

Boss · Hard

James Marcus's final, monstrous form — a writhing mass of the very leeches that rebuilt him after his murder. The fight comes in stages: an open brawl first, then a chase where Billy has to keep the Queen distracted while Rebecca operates a set of valves to finish her off for good.

Location
Treatment Plant, final chamber
Recommendations
  • Grenade Launcher (Acid Rounds) and Molotov Cocktails
  • Keep her attention on Billy while Rebecca works the valves
