Secrets

Alternate endings, the hidden Channeling Stone puzzle, and the button code that unlocks the Chainsaw.

The Chainsaw

Weapon Unlock

A devastating melee weapon that isn't found anywhere in the world itself — it's unlocked with a button code entered at the title screen instead:

L1 + L2 + R1 + R2 + Select, then Triangle
Unlock Condition
On the title screen, before starting or loading a game, hold the button combination below and press Triangle.
Rewards
  • Chainsaw added to Harry’s inventory for a New Game

The Good / Good+ Ending

Story Ending

The most complete resolution to Harry and Alessa's story. Requires paying attention to several optional character interactions across the whole playthrough, not just the final choice.

Unlock Condition
Keep Cybil alive and calm throughout the story, and collect the items needed to weaken the final boss before the last confrontation.
Rewards
  • The canon-leaning ending
  • Good+ variant if Cybil survives to the very end

The UFO Ending

Joke Ending

Silent Hill's one big detour into self-aware humor. Missable on a first playthrough — most players find it by revisiting the game with a completed save rather than blind.

Unlock Condition
Find the hidden Channeling Stone item and use it in a specific spot late in the game.
Rewards
  • A tongue-in-cheek non-canon ending
  • Unlocks extra costume/bonus content on a completed save

Extra Difficulty & Costume Options

New Game+ Unlock

Beating the game once unlocks extra options on the difficulty select screen for future playthroughs, letting you tune combat and puzzle difficulty independently.

Unlock Condition
Complete the game once, on any ending.
Rewards
  • Selectable Risk and Puzzle difficulty on New Game
  • Access to bonus content tied to your save file
