Enemies
The town's regulars and its bosses — Mannequins, Lying Figures, Bubble Head Nurses, Pyramid Head, and the rest of the cast James can't outrun.
Lying Figure
EncounterWrithing, straitjacket-bound figures that drag themselves toward you and vomit acid when you get close. Slow enough to outrun in the open; only worth fighting when a hallway forces the issue.
- Handgun from a distance — they can spit acid if you close in carelessly
- Easy to just walk past in open streets
Mannequin
EncounterTwo pairs of mannequin legs fused together, standing motionless until you approach. Genuinely unsettling more than dangerous — most encounters are avoidable if you keep your distance.
- Steel Pipe or Handgun, whichever you have spare
- They only "wake up" and attack once you get close — you can often just pass by
Bubble Head Nurse
EncounterTwitching, faceless nurses that swing a weapon in short, unpredictable bursts. Fragile individually, but the corridors they patrol rarely give you room to avoid more than one at once.
- Shotgun in tight hallways with more than one nurse
- Their jerky, twitching movement telegraphs an incoming swing — punish the pause
Creeper
EncounterA hunched, clawed creature that skitters low to the ground and closes distance faster than most regulars in the game. Deceptively dangerous in packs — don't let more than one get within range.
- Shoot on sight before it reaches you — its lunge is fast
- Rifle if you can line it up from range
Wall Man
EncounterA humanoid that camouflages itself flush against a wall or ceiling and drops an ambush attack the moment you walk past. The radio's static is your only real warning — don't ignore it.
- Listen for the radio static before entering a new room
- Back off and shoot — it hits hard if it connects
Bosses
Pyramid Head
Boss · MediumThe first proper encounter with Silent Hill 2's signature executioner. There's no real way to "kill" it here — keep shooting and dodging until it retreats down the stairs and vanishes into the flooded water below, ending the fight.
- Handgun, loaded from the menu before you engage
- Keep distance in the cramped stairwell landing and fire while circling
Flesh Lips
Boss · MediumA trio of hanging, fleshy creatures — two drop from the ceiling first, a third joins once you think the fight is over. None are individually fast or lethal; the shotgun's spread makes short work of all three if you keep circling instead of standing still.
- Shotgun — let them close in a little before you fire
- Retreat and reposition after each shot; there are three of them, not one
Angela's Father
Boss · MediumA towering, faceless abomination tied directly to Angela's history of abuse at her father's hands — one of the more overtly symbolic fights in the game. Fast for its size; firepower and constant repositioning matter more than any specific pattern.
- Hunting Rifle or Shotgun
- The arena is tight — keep moving, it closes distance quickly
Eddie Dombrowski
Boss · MediumUnlike most of the game's threats, Eddie fights back with a gun of his own and aims well. Once he's taken enough punishment he'll flee into an adjoining room — chase him down and finish it there rather than letting him regroup.
- Whatever gun has the most spare ammo — he shoots back accurately
- Follow him into the cold-storage room he retreats to once he takes enough damage
The Twin Pyramid Heads
Boss · HardTwo Pyramid Heads at once, in a room with enough space to work with. Damage to either one counts against both — focus fire on whichever is closer and keep moving so neither corners you.
- Your strongest ranged weapon — they share a single health pool
- Circle from corner to corner, firing at safe distance rather than trading hits
Mary
Final Boss · HardSilent Hill 2's final confrontation, suspended in the air above the room where James and Mary once stayed. Not a mechanically complex fight, but an emotionally loaded one — pour everything you've saved into her before she drops to the ground for the finishing blow.
- Hunting Rifle ammo saved specifically for this fight
- Avoid the Shotgun — both her whip-like lunge and her moth swarm have more reach than you’d expect
