Old Silent Hill & the Resort Area

Old Silent Hill
Old Silent HillResidential district & graveyardNorth of the lake, this older residential district is quieter but denser with locked houses and optional detours. The main thread runs through it toward the Resort Area and, eventually, back to the Balkan Church — this time from the inside.

The Historical Society
A building here holds documents tying the Gillespie family, the Order, and the town's history together more explicitly than anything found so far — worth reading in full even though it isn't required to progress.

Crossing into Old Silent Hill's Otherworld
As with every previous area, expect a transition here too — usually triggered by reaching a specific building or story beat. The Otherworld version of this district leans heavily into cramped interiors and Grey Child ambushes; keep the Shotgun ready for doorways.
Stock Up FirstThis is one of the last calmer stretches before the endgame. Use any remaining Save Point notepads and make sure you're not critically low on ammo before pushing further.

Kaufmann's Reckoning
Dr. Kaufmann's subplot — his own reasons for staying quiet about Alessa, and the outside contacts he's been dealing with — comes to a head somewhere in this stretch. Whatever happens between him and Harry here closes out his role in the story.

Back to the Church, from the Inside
The path eventually loops back to the Balkan Church — this time granting access to its interior, which was sealed off during your first visit. Beneath it lies the entrance to the ritual site itself.

The Descent Begins
A stairwell or elevator beneath the church leads down into Nowhere — the game's final, fully corrupted dimension, where the story concludes. There's no casual backtracking to town from here on.
