Third Sun — Europe

City Center — Sector S
Otacon introduces the Frequency Interceptor here — keep it equipped and you'll rarely need it, but if you ever lose sight of the resistance contact you're tailing, switching to it lets you pick up a new one. The job is simple: never lose sight of your contact, but stay far enough back that they don't spot you and bolt. A couple of PMCs usually tail them too; tranquilizing both with the Mk. II lets the contact keep moving. They eventually settle near a park statue.
- 2
City Center — Sector NE
A helicopter's spotlight sweeps the street ahead. Tranquilize the PMCs guarding it first, then match your contact's exact path to stay clear of the light along with them.
- 3
City Center — Sector N
Your contact disguises as a PMC soldier here and walks openly, unarmed — but this sector's patrols are denser and their weapons hit hard, so a good hiding spot matters more than usual. When they mix into a larger PMC group, only shoot the ones actually carrying weapons; headshots drop them cleanest. A patrol car loops the block on a short, predictable route — press against the nearest doorway and wait it out each time you hear it coming. Watch for an open area to the north where three PMCs can spot you easily; a nearby van makes good cover if you need it.
- 4
Motorcycle Chase — Church Yard
Snake rides tail-gunner on Big Mama's motorcycle with unlimited (but frequently reloading) submachine gun ammo — re-equip the Solid Eye now, you won't need the Interceptor anymore. PMCs line the route through the churchyard; Gekko join in as Big Mama pulls over at a corner. Aim for their legs — you won't destroy them outright here, but keep firing until Big Mama moves the bike on to the next stretch.
- 5
Motorcycle Chase — West Shore
Gekko are less of a concern here than PMCs riding in cars with mounted gunners — shoot the gunners the moment you see them. FROGs join in on foot once Big Mama vaults over a couple of parked vehicles; focus on the top of the resistance van ahead, since that's where they tend to appear.
- 6
Motorcycle Chase — East Shore
Raging Raven appears here alongside airborne Raven soldiers — shoot them down on sight; they go down easily. Follow Big Mama's callouts for where to aim. Expect a rhythm of Ravens, then PMCs in a vehicle, then Ravens again, then FROGs, repeating with brief lulls between waves.

Boss: Raging Raven
Raging Raven
Boss · HardNot as hard as she looks, but she takes a while to bring down. Weapons with area damage catch her even when she's actively evading, which matters more here than raw accuracy.
Attacks- Commands a flock of remote-controlled raven drones
- Dissolves into a swarm of crows and reappears elsewhere
- Direct-fire weapons are easy for her to dodge
Strategy- Stay indoors as much as possible — the exterior areas are much more dangerous
- Bring explosive weapons (grenade launcher, RPG) — their splash damage lands far more reliably than a clean shot
- Duck out briefly for extra ammo or an iPod track if you're confident, then retreat
- Switch to tranquilizers once her health is roughly half gone
As with Laughing Octopus, the second phase has her slowly closing in on Snake — keep tranquilizing and backing off until she goes down. Defeating her non-lethally awards the MGL-140 Grenade Launcher either way, plus the Raging Beauty face camo if you finish her with the tranquilizer gun.
