A private investigator or a young pianist enters a cursed Louisiana mansion alone — and finds out why its owner hanged himself in the attic.
1924. Derceto, a decaying manor on the Louisiana coast, has stood empty since its owner, artist Jeremy Hartwood, was found hanged in the attic. His niece hires private investigator Edward Carnby — or, in her own version of events, comes to search the house herself as Emily Hartwood — to find out why. What starts as a walk through a dusty old house turns into a night spent unraveling Hartwood's occult research, fighting off the undead things his experiments woke up, and uncovering the Lovecraftian horror sleeping in the caverns underneath the house.
