With your equipment recovered, you return to Groznyj Grad. Plant four C3 explosive charges on the fuel tanks in the main hangar to disable the Shagohod before it becomes fully operational.

Colonel Volgin, Hand-to-Hand
Colonel Volgin
His electromagnetic shields block frontal shots, so positioning matters more than raw firepower here.

Strategy- Dodge his electric attacks using CQC counters
- Shoot his blind spot from behind whenever you get the chance
- Back off completely when he starts charging up energy

Motorcycle Chase & The Shagohod
The explosion triggers an intense motorcycle chase, with EVA driving while you fire at pursuing soldiers. It ends on a devastated plain, face to face with the Shagohod itself, now piloted by Volgin.

- Follow up with rockets aimed directly at the cockpit to finish Volgin off for good

Eva Wounded & the Jungle Trek
During the motorcycle escape toward the lake where the escape aircraft is waiting, a wooden splinter flies loose and lodges in Eva's abdomen, leaving her badly wounded. Now Snake and Eva have to cross the jungle on foot to find a safe place to escape from.

The Boss, In the Field of Flowers
At the end of the escape, they reach a field of white flowers by the water, where Snake comes face to face with The Boss. He tells Eva to go on ahead and that he'll catch up, then faces the mission's true objective alone: The Boss herself.
The Boss
You have ten minutes to defeat your mentor before incoming missiles level the entire field. Overcome her, and you inherit her title — Big Boss.

- Point-blank shots from the Patriot after a successful grab
Strategy- Counter her grabs by pressing the prompt at the exact instant she grabs you — this staggers her briefly
- Hide among the flowers using white camouflage and finish her off with a rifle or sniper rifle

Ocelot on the Aircraft
With The Boss down, Snake and the wounded EVA reach the aircraft and get it moving to escape. Once it is airborne, a cutscene plays: Ocelot has stowed away on board and steps out to settle things with Snake one last time. It never turns into a real fight — the two aim their pistols at each other, Ocelot's jams, and after a tense standoff he chooses to let Snake go, jumping clear of the plane. Nothing is required of you here; just watch it through.
