Before You Start
Chris Redfield — Survival Strategy
Chris Redfield's run is the remake's true challenge mode: fewer inventory slots, no Grenade Launcher, and a mansion that punishes every wasted item. His story also swaps allies — Wesker stands in for Barry early on, and Rebecca Chambers joins partway through — which changes several scenes even where the rooms and puzzles stay identical to Jill's path.
Difficulty:(Hard — recommended after finishing Jill's campaign first)
Key Points
- Inventory Capacity: 6 slots
- Personal Item: Lighter — burns bodies without a Kerosene Canteen refill trip
- Defense Item: Combat Knife & Defense Grenade (auto-equipped when grabbed)
- Key Disadvantage: No Grenade Launcher, no Lockpick, and no one saves you from the shotgun room trap
Recommendations
- You start with only a Combat Knife — retreat rather than fight the first zombie until Wesker hands you the pistol.
- You must plant the Broken Shotgun back on its rack in the trick room yourself, or the ceiling trap kills you outright.
- Six slots go fast — leave Old Keys and spent items in the box the moment a lock is opened for good.
- You can't brew V-Jolt, so save Grenade Launcher-tier firepower — really your Shotgun and Magnum rounds — for Plant 42.
