  1. 1

    Waking Up in the Dungeon

Fiona comes to shackled in a dungeon cell with no memory of how she got there. Struggle against the restraints until a white German Shepherd claws through the rotting door and frees her — name him Hewie when prompted, and from here on treat him as a full party member rather than a pet. Follow him out of the dungeon and into the castle proper.

  1. 2

    Meeting Daniella

The castle's maid, Daniella, greets Fiona and provides a change of clothes. She's polite, almost too polite — nothing about this first meeting is openly hostile, but her stiff, precise manner is the first sign something is badly wrong with the people living here.

  1. 3

Exploring the Castle & Early Alchemy

Emeth statue, near the startObsidian Choker (via the METH plate-key)

Explore the castle's ground floor with Hewie at your side, picking up early Magnesia and Antimony as you find them. Use the METH plate-key on the Emeth statue right away to craft the Obsidian Choker — wearing it early takes the edge off how easily the castle's Luminessants can track you for the rest of the game.

  1. 4

    First Contact with Debilitas

Debilitas, the castle's groundskeeper, starts appearing in the halls as you explore — a huge, slow-moving man with the mind of a small child. He isn't subtle about hunting you, but he's also not fast; use doors and furniture to break his line of sight rather than trying to out-sprint him in open corridors.

  1. 5

The Doll Room & the Red Box Puzzle

Castle doll roomJade Choker and Inquisitor Earrings (via the MAGNUS plate-key)

Track down the MAGNUS plate-key and use it on the red box in the castle's doll room. Solving it hands over both the Jade Choker and the Inquisitor Earrings — equip whichever fits your playstyle better, the choker for raw survivability, the earrings if panic management is giving you trouble.

  1. 6

    The Bisque Doll

Debilitas' Shack, outside the Emeth roomBisque Doll

Debilitas' Shack holds a porcelain Bisque Doll he's unnaturally attached to. Pick it up and keep it in reserve — thrown near him, it reliably pulls his attention away from Fiona long enough to slip past.

Setting Up the Chandelier Kill

The Entrance Hall's chandelier can be dropped on Debilitas for an instant, resource-free kill instead of fighting him directly. Lure him underneath it — the Bisque Doll or a thrown Weeping Stone both work to position him — then trigger the drop.

  1. 7

    Boss Fight: Debilitas

    Debilitas

    Boss · Medium

Whether you take him down via the chandelier trap or fight him outright, beating Debilitas here is what finally opens up the rest of the castle grounds.

    Attacks
    • Grabs and slams Fiona if he catches her
    • Overpowers her in a straight chase if cornered
    Strategy
    • Lure him under the Entrance Hall chandelier and drop it for a clean kill
    • Throw the Bisque Doll to break his focus if you need to reposition
    • A direct fight works, but expect to burn through Magnesia and Antimony
  1. 8

    The Saturnus Key

    Chapel statueSaturnus Key

After Debilitas is dealt with, the chapel statue yields the Saturnus Key. It opens the Saturnus Door — the gateway to the rest of the castle's interior.

Point of No Return

Passing through the Saturnus Door locks you out of revisiting this earlier section of the grounds. Finish any Magnesia/Antimony farming and side pickups you want from this area before going through.
