The Antarctic Base and the Valve
Arrival in Antarctica- Upon landing, go through the double doors to the main terminal (dodge the giant tentacles on the walls). Pass the crashed seaplane that Claire and Steve used to escape, and go down the stairs.
- In the save room, place the Halberd in the display case to open the back compartment. Collect the Paperweight and the file.
Retrieving the Valve- Go up to the upper area of the production room, which is completely frozen following Claire's escape.
- Cross the area and collect the Octagonal Hand Valve that Claire left in the machine. Get ready, as several zombies will thaw and attack you immediately.

Restoring the Power
The Ice Room- Walk across the ice on the broken walkway to cross to the other side. You will enter the scanner room, where you will automatically be detected; eliminate the Hunter and use the elevator to go down.
- Cross the conveyor belt room to the ice room, and enter the adjacent power room.
- Use the Octagonal Hand Valve on the machinery and flip the switch to restore electricity to the lower levels of the polar base.

The Converter and Alfred's Jewel
The Tiger Statue- Carefully descend through the ice room eliminating zombies. At the bottom, inspect the tiger statue and remove the Blue Jewel. The tiger will rotate, revealing a Converter.
- Combine the Converter with your Octagonal Valve to return it to its original Square shape. Put the Blue Jewel back in place (if you also place the Red Jewel from your inventory, you'll get Magnum rounds).
The Cryogenic Laboratory- Take the nearby elevator down. You will cross a massive ant nest; on the other side collect the first Wing Object. Follow the blood-stained wall to the cryogenic storage.
- Inspect the computer next to the capsule. Look at the Paperweight in your inventory and enter the symbols by rotating them 90 degrees to the left as the password.
- Place the Paperweight in the slot to open the capsule. You will find the corpse of Alfred Ashford; take his ring and examine it to obtain Alfred's Jewel.
