The Hotel by the Lake

With Eddie dealt with, cross the large doors to the side and turn right — you can save here. Find a boat by the dock and climb aboard.

Reaching your destination puts you on a dock at the Lakeview Hotel — you're closing in on the end of this journey.

Head up the stairs and follow the path away from the dock to a fountain.

Check the fountain for the Little Mermaid Music Box, then continue into the hotel, where the hotel map is on a board to your left. Use it to find the Lake Shore Restaurant.

Inside, find the piano for a scene with a small, unexpected guest. Afterward, check a plate on a table for the Fish Key.

Head down to Basement 1 (the map will help). Following the hallway straight leads to an elevator with its doors open — grab the Can of Solvent on the floor there.

Take the elevator up to the first floor, cross the Lobby to Reception, and grab the Room 312 Key. Head up to the second floor (west side, per the map) and enter the Cloak Room, where a Briefcase opens with the Fish Key — inside is the Room 204 Key.

In Room 204, a nightstand holds the Employee Elevator Key, and a hole in the wall leads to the room next door. Cross over and examine the Photograph on the bed, using the Can of Solvent on it — this reveals a code, worth writing down. Use it on the suitcase in this same room for the Cinderella Music Box.

Head to the east wing of this floor. An elevator on the left is locked, but the room next to it lets you unlock it with the Employee Elevator Key.

Once you've emptied your inventory, the elevator takes you down to the first floor.

A new map (of the employee zone) is on the wall to your left. Head to the Pantry for the Snow White Music Box. Then, following the map, go to the Office for a Videotape and a Can Opener (both in the open safe).

Head back to Basement 1 via the stairs across from the Office, toward the Boiler Room, and grab the Bar Key hanging from a pipe. In the Kitchen, an Unlabeled Can opens with your Can Opener to reveal a Light Bulb.

Head to the Venus Tears Bar and find the lamp — install the Light Bulb to light up a hidden door. Use the Bar Key on it, which leads to an area you've already been to (where you found the Can of Solvent).

Head back to where you dropped your inventory (second floor, west wing) to reclaim everything. With your full arsenal restored, go down to the first floor Lobby, where a large music-box machine holds the next puzzle. On Normal, the order is:

• Left: Cinderella Music Box
• Center: Snow White Music Box
• Right: Little Mermaid Music Box

Set them correctly and play them to receive the Hotel Stairway Key.

The Hotel Stairway Key unlocks the gate on the second floor blocking the stairs up (check the map for its exact spot). Climb to the third floor and head straight to Room 312, using the key you already have.

Play the Videotape on the television — a devastating scene follows, and by its end the hotel has slipped fully into the Otherworld.
