Rescuing the Simon Family

HQ radios that a rescue team is ten minutes out; Jack's job now is to find the Ambassador's wife and daughter while Pierre stays behind with Mason. Head back down and across Car 11, using the Blue Keycard to open the door into Car 12.

• Car 12 has four small rooms worth checking (two memos, a handgun clip) and a shower room where a knife-wielding soldier ambushes you from behind.
• Upstairs, the communications area holds a System Disc — take it to the console at the end of the hall and use it there to unlock a display panel.
• Punch in the door number shown on the display to open the previously-locked door on this floor.

Inside, Christina Wayborn — the last surviving member of the Ambassador's security detail — introduces herself and gives Jack a radio so they can stay in contact. After she leaves, check the desk machine and use the Blue Keycard on it to upgrade it. Head down and use the upgraded keycard on the door to Car 13.

In Car 13, a bathroom puzzle: turn on the lights, drain the blood-filled bathtub, and take the Special Key left inside. Down the hall, a laptop reveals that the door code is the train's departure date:

Use it on the locked door, clear the room, and continue in to find the Ambassador's wife and daughter, Catherine and Jane Simon.

Jack brings the family down to the first floor and is asked to clear Car 14 — the open-air car — so rescue helicopters can land.

• Duck behind the crates as you enter and fight off the wave of guards two at a time, ducking after each burst.
• Once the car is clear, the family is airlifted out safely, but not before Jane hands Jack her good-luck pendant to give back to her father.

With the family gone, head all the way back to Car 10, saving along the way, and drop the Blue Keycard in the box — you won't need it again.

• In the Ambassador's room, Mason claims innocence about what happened to the family earlier.
• Check the bathroom tub again and turn on the tap: the number 5 appears etched on the window. Remember it.

Outside, HQ warns that the terrorists are about to fire missiles in anger. Head up to the roof via Car 11's ladder and use the Special Key to open the hatch into Car 9.
